What happens if I run my heater out of diesel?
Never allow your fuel tank to fall below ¼ full as to do so may cause your heater to run out of fuel. If this should happen turn off the heater, remove the positive lead off the battery (this clears the heater fault memory) wait 20 seconds then reconnect the battery lead. Turn on the heater and it will begin to purge the fuel, you may have to do this 2-3 times before it fires off again. This will cause you to loose your radio code so keep that handy!
How often should I change my oven filter?
We recommend it’s changed around every 6 weeks but that would depend on the environment, if its really dusty it may need renewing more frequently, take it out and have a look, once it dirty and clogging, change it for a fresh one. These are not expensive and can be ordered direct from our parts department.
How often should I have my oven and fridge system serviced?
The oven and fridge should be serviced on an annual basis, the first services to be completed before the end of the twelfth month. [IMPORTANT Failure to do so will invalidate your 2nd year’s warranty]. The completion of your 1st service triggers the start of the second year’s warranty.
Can I alter the fridge and heater temperature?
Fridge and heater are both thermostatically controlled, the oven leaves Jiffy set at around 82 degrees, and this seems to be the preferred temperature of our operators. There is a thermostat switch that allows you to slightly alter the temperature either up or down, please be careful when altering it as the switch is very sensitive, so turn it a little at a time until you achieve the desired heat.
The fridge is factory set to pull down to 5 degrees; it will then turn off until the temperature reaches 7 degrees when it will blow again. The control settings are ever so complicated and we suggest you leave this setting alone. If you really want to change the settings give us a call and we’ll have one of our engineers talk you through it.
Please remember that on cold mornings when the temperature outside is less than 7 degrees your fridge won’t blow as the thermostat knows it’s already cold enough.
What other parts need regular maintenance?
All the usual vehicle checks such as fuel, coolant, oil, windscreen wash, tyres, operation of the lights and horn should be checked on a daily basis.
On the Jiffy body, check daily the operation of the door alarms, lightly grease the ball joints on the door gas struts from time to time. The door locking mechanism and key slot need a light oil (WD40) on a regular basis as these seem to dry out and get stiff, especially if power washed.
How do I keep my truck looking new?
Wash the truck regularly with car wash/wax, don’t go near the mirror finished stainless with anything abrasive, to keep the original finish, wax it like you would a new car.
